From B&B Saenliefde in WormerBed & Breakfast Saenliefde is an excellent base for visiting culture in the surrounding towns and villages such as Alkmaar, Purmerend, Edam, Volendam and Amsterdam.
But also the Zaanse Schans and the beaches of Wijk aan Zee or Castricum are within easy reach. An environment where you can also enjoy hiking or cycling in the coastaal dunes area.
The garden
B&B Saenliefde has a lovely garden with lots of space & nice seats. So if you do not feel like going out, then a day in the garden is certainly not a punishment!

With us you are also welcome with your sloop! Enjoy a relaxing stay in one of our guest rooms and take a few nice day trips in the area. Are you on a multi-day tour? Then it is often also possible to book only one night. Sloopers prefer to register with us by phone or e-mail.
Zaan Bend
Saenliefde is located in a quiet spot on the Zaan bend. An area where more and more beautiful initiatives are being developed: For instance, the expansion of the shopping and catering, the construction of cosy terraces and the preparations of the pedestrian ferry between Wormer and Wormerveer.
Within walking distance of Saenliefde, you can visit Wormer’s Industrial Warehouse Wall and settle down for a snack or drink along the way.
Boat trip through the Eilandspolder
Rent a whisper boat at de Gouw or de Ouweland in the picturesque whale-fishing village De Rijp and explore the beautiful nature reserve of the Eilandspolder.
Or are you more interested in the historical village in the land of Leeghwater? Let yourself be amazed by the beautiful details during a circular walk.
Wormer-en Jisperveld & Kalverpolder
From visitor centre de Poelboerderij You can discover this one-off Peat meadow area, which is managed together with natural monuments and a large number of volunteers.
Excursions take place throughout the year in this beautiful area. You can also explore this place by canoe.

From Canoe Centre Arjan Bloem ou can make various beautiful tours.
The Trekvogelpad
The longest nature trail of the Netherlands runs from Bergen aan Zee to Enschede. When you start in the North Holland Dune Reserve you will arrive on your journey through the Beemster, Schermer and the Eilandspolder, then enjoy the beautiful route through the Wormer and Jisperveld. A few hundred meters from the route, you can stay overnight at B&B Saenliefde and in the evening eat at one of the restaurants in the Zaanbocht.
Zaanse Schans & Bulb fields
The windmills and wooden houses of De Zaanse Schans are less than 5km from Bed & Breakfast Saenliefde.
Visit the various mills, the cheese dairy, the Tin foundry and the warehouse where clogs are made. Look around the stores or take a bike or boat ride in the area and end the day at the pancake restaurant.
The bulb fields are in bloom from the end of March until the beginning of May. The Narcissus fields bloom from the end of March to mid-April, hyacinths from early April to the end of April and the tulips from early April to early May.
Fort Resort Beemster
Fort Resort Beemster is a stylish, sustainable and luxurious wellness Resort in the Unesco monument Fort on the Nekkerweg, located in the Beemster World Heritage site near Amsterdam. The fortress where soldiers were formerly stationed has now been transformed into a unique SPA & Wellness centre with special baths and saunas. From Saenliefde you can walk to the train station in 15 min. There is also free parking.

Beach and dunes
A day trip to the coast is perfectly doable from Wormer!
Lovely walking, sunbathing, cycling or enjoying in a nice beach bar: in half an hour you are by car in Castricum or Egmond aan zee,but this is also easy to do by bike!
Laag Holland
Low Holland is a unique piece of real Holland just north of Amsterdam and is part of North Holland.
Picturesque pictures and real Dutch landscapes are interspersed with today’s most fun activities. Hop on your bike, walk through the streets or sail across the puddles.
Wormerland is surrounded by this beautiful region, so with Saenliefde as a starting point, you can go in any direction!
Duck rally with Ducktrail
If you want to explore the area, book one or more Ducks yourself at Ducktrail. When the weather is nice, you drive a lovely convertible. You easily unroll the roof yourself. You are immediately on holiday in your own country! This can be done with partner, family, friends or colleagues.
